UKI Assurance Technology Enablement – Team Manager

9 month maternity contract

The Assurance Technology (AT) Team supports the UK, Ireland including FS Assurance businesses by enabling EY Audit professionals to provide the best customer service to its’ clients.

The AT Team ensures that employees within our UKI & FS Audit Service Lines have access to the necessary tools and support required to provide a high quality, efficient service to EY clients.

The team provides specialist product and operational support for existing applications used by assurance professionals in executing their audit. We also lead the Assurance technology development agenda representing the needs of assurance and ensuring they are met by IT Services solutions delivery/3 rd party suppliers. Future products include the Intelligent Checklist, Workflow Solution etc.

The AT Team, located throughout Europe, interacts daily with a wide variety of audit teams across UK and Ireland as well as the EY global technology team.

Role Summary

Working closely with and reporting to the Assurance Technology team leader. Responsible for managing the Assurance Technology team and ensuring that the teams’ goals and objectives are delivered to within agreed timelines. Responsible for the existing suite of applications and delivering critical initiatives designed to effect efficiencies in assurance technology solutions.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Strategic Planning and Project Management

  • Utilizes consulting experience, and strong project and change management experience, to identify opportunities for generating efficiencies via technology solutions for the audit practice

  • Understanding of standard project methodologies re project initiation, current state analysis, future state design, implementation and project transition/close

  • Needs to understand global, firm wide and industry business issues and how they relate to overall strategy, and specific stakeholder needs and priorities

  • Ability to develop plans for and manage a 12 month cycle of strategic planning and initiative delivery

  • Provide input on key technology issues and strategy to shape strategy execution, initiatives, and stakeholder management and interactions

  • Anticipate communications needs and work independently to develop draft agendas, topics, speaking notes and presentations with limited direction

  • Manages majority of day-to-day responsibilities independently, with little supervision. Direct supervisory responsibilities and will interact frequently with other members of the enablement team to obtain input, share information and guide supervisory and operational team members

  • Ability to work independently and produce deliverables, with limited subordinate support

  • Ability to build and maintain relationship across many different functions and organization levels

  • Strong understanding of a variety of organizational changes, including technology, process and organizational design, within a large and complex organization

  • Strong technology skills as follows;-

  • Ability to gather and assess business application requirements and articulate to IT

  • Ability to review IT requirement documentation and ensure IT delivery against agreed requirements

  • Devise flexible approaches to resolve technology issues

  • Challenge the robustness of ITs test plans and approach

  • Develop and implement user acceptance testing, communication and training plans

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level with a proven track record

  • Excellent team building and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to understand team vision/strategy and create roadmap to achieve and communicate strategy throughout the firm

  • Ability to create and present powerful and engaging presentations

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people and different cultures.

Other Requirements

  • Some travel may be required pending business needs

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Proven project, change management experience, and strategy execution

  • Proven track record as a senior project manager or change manager on large scalecomplex and significant company projects

  • Proven aptitude and keen interest in technology and technology developments

  • Strong logical reasoning skills with a desire to learn and develop expertise in specific business software and underlying technologies

  • Have excellent communication (verbal and written), organisational and analytical skills

  • Keen ability to exercise good judgement and mitigate data loss risks

  • IT literate with an aptitude for quickly learning new technology

  • Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
