You will be part of the Category Planning team, which forms part of the wider Sales function. You will report directly to the Sales Revenue Planning Controller, working cross functionally with other departments to deliver the Category goals, with lead responsibility for individual categories

To lead growth initiatives within the snacking category, supported by shopper and category insights.

  • Lead, support and develop the category development/activation team

  • Create and agree the Mondelez Ireland Category Development Strategic plan

  • Develop and manage Category Partnership projects with key customers

  • Lead range review programmes with our key customers

To lead the trade spend strategy for our biscuits category

  • Primarily, the Sales Revenue Planning team is responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of the sales results and developing Trade Strategies for implementation within the Our Customers. This involves building, managing, tracking and evaluating a Trade Spend budget, used for driving volume, revenue and rate per tonne.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Lead, support and develop the category development/activation team

  • Create and agree the Mondelez Ireland Category Development Strategic plan

  • Develop and manage Category Partnership projects with key customers

  • Lead range review programmes with our key customers

  • Manage and implement local research and data projects

  • Analyse and interpret data to provide insight to develop the business strategy and planning

  • Support ad-hoc analysis requirements to understand our shoppers, categories, brands, channels and customers.

  • Develop Category selling stories to support our customer JBP’s

  • Support our sales teams to enable implementation of our category development strategies

  • Manage the agency partnerships to ensure maximum value for the business

  • Build contact matrix with key retailers to improve scale efficiency and effectiveness of campaigns and projects and understand retailer processes, media partners, marketing calendar custodians, key decision-makers, and stake holders critical to campaign success

  • Understanding the key drivers of purchase using the WPOB techniques (see, scan, spot, show interest, select).

  • Taking responsibility for the development of account/channel specific pos for individual big bet activation and snacking initiatives.

Planning, communication and tracking of the business plan

  • Working with Business / National Account Managers (Customer Managers) to track progress towards volume, revenue and Rate per tonne targets by brand, channel and customer.

  • Conduct rigorous post evaluation of promotional activity in partnership with Finance and Customer Marketing.

  • Providing a supporting role to Sales Revenue planning controller through the provision of regular reporting such as promotional volume tracking, trade spend / % promoted)

  • Monitor and report Mondelez Sweet competitor market place pricing and promotional activity.

  • Monitor the revenue realisation of the cost price execution.

  • Working with National Account Manager and Sales Finance to ensure all trade spend is on the system and accruing in the correct way.

Customer Business Forecasting/ inventory & supply chain management

  • Work with Demand Planning and NAMs to review the volume forecast through customer surgeries identifying risks and opportunities.

  • Communication of promotional volume or timing changes out of cycle to supply chain contacts.

  • Management of customer allocations (low stocks) with sales and supply chain.

Management of the Promotional database including promotional summary accuracy and promotional finance documentation accuracy

  • Review all proposed promotional deals by customer to ensure alignment to brand strategy and in line with business expectations

  • Approve promotional activity within agreed approval authorisation level.

  • Regular review of all Promotional summary charts with NAM’s and the category team

  • Support Sales Revenue Planning Manager and Sales with base reviews at SKU level.

  • Administer SAP projects (to link Individual Promotional Assessments (IPA’s) /deals (G4) to specific quarters)

Liaison with marketing and Product Change Management and Category Development

  • Special pack management with PCM including shippers and customer and or channel specific SKU’s

  • Support pricing and NPD set up in SAP

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent.

  • Proven commercial analytical abilities

  • Knowledge of MS office and IT literate

  • Field sales or commercial experience
