This is a hybrid role that provides commercial experience across the twin disciplines of Customer planning and Category Development.
As part of the Ireland Cheese and Grocery Business Unit, develop, implement & manage the trade investment strategy and execution for the cheese and grocery categories. Also to work with the Category Marketing Team and UK Category Development Team executing Brand strategies with our major customers.
Category delivery of:
Net revenue per tonne and Trade spend per tonne
Customer investment per tonne.
Coordinate the delivery of absolute revenue in line with rate targets and the required balance of promoted and non-promoted volume, in line with AC targets.
Manage the trade promotional programme including the trade spend budget and the approval of promotional activity within agreed approval authorisation levels and timeframes
Drive the evaluation and review of promotional effectiveness (ROI), product and customer mix in order to provide direction and help to the sales team to maximise, revenue, volume, share and profitable growth.
Provide support for customer JBP’s and trade terms proposals
Work closely with the Category Marketing teams to represent all channel and customer needs to influence and shape strategy and the annual contract development through key business forums.
Build understanding and capability in the role of Price, Promotion and Format in delivering our growth agenda.
Within the overall price and promotional strategy stream, work with Customer/Sales Planning Manager to shape the development and execution of net revenue realisation through setting cost price, promotional mechanics and influence key format changes, including big bet targets, which is consistent across the category sub categories.
Co-ordinate the delivery of the sales forecast within the designated categories
Work with Customer/Sales planning manager to manage the sales input into the business forecasting cycle and communicate performance versus the plan, opportunities, risks and recommended actions which will feed into CPM and steering meetings
Monitor and report category/customer sales performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Provide support to the primary sales contact on a day to day basis to communicate current category performance, and corrective actions.
Ensure stock deployment to deliver business and customer priorities including risk stock management.
Take an active role to achieve KPI’s versus a set of clear category plans through a personal development plan and ongoing 1 to 1’s
Support compliance to all the European Operating Company Protocols.
Work with supply chain to ensure waste and DSO are managed to maximise rate per tonne.
