VMware HR Source Lead (12 month contract) in Cork, Ireland

HR Source serve as the primary HR contact to assist VMware employees, managers and contractors with their HR needs. HR Source comprises of a team of HR Advisors who are customer focused individuals and have a passion to solve customer issues in an efficient and effective manner. The HR Source Lead position is a dual role with responsibility for resolving customer issues while also acting as Team Lead for HR Source in EMEA. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a multi-national environment within a HR function.

Job description

This position will report into the Senior Manager, HR Operations, EMEA, and will partner closely with the HR Shared Service Team, Regional HR Specialists, HR Business Partners, HR Directors and various COEs – Staffing, Compensation & Benefits, HRIS and Global Talent Development to provide HR services for VMware. They will manage a team of four direct reports who are located throughout EMEA and will form part of the wider EMEA HR Operations Team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead for a decentralized team of four HR Advisors including weekly 1:1s, peer feedback, talent and compensation reviews

  • Serve as primary HR Source point of contact for EMEA within the Global HR Source management team

  • Oversee HR Source EMEA metrics, provide approval before weekly/monthly metrics are issued and provide guidance when ad-hoc metrics are requested

  • Analyze trends and report results, bringing findings and insights from HR Source to our businesses

  • Act as HR Source Liaison Partner for Compensation & Benefits, attend monthly calls to discuss any process improvements, red flag queries or policy issues on behalf of the team

  • Support the team as point of escalation for complex or high-priority customer queries. Assisting them to resolve non-standard employee enquiries, identifying the best means to find expert support internally or externally

  • Coordinate the team’s leave and tasks to ensure appropriate cover is in place when Advisors are out of the office, maintaining an excellent level of service

  • Continuously seek to improve the processes followed by HR Source EMEA and our interaction with other HR groups, COEs and customers

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the internal case management tool used by HR Source

  • Create new and review existing knowledge base content to ensure information is kept accurate and valid

  • Act as cover for the EMEA Knowledge Base Publisher when required

  • Provide superior customer service and HR support to VMware employees and managers

  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for all employee and manager enquiries regarding benefits, employee data, HR systems and information sources for your assigned region

  • Respond to employee and manager enquiries through phone, email or our internal case management tool by accessing a variety of resources and knowledge bases

  • Document all contacts and outcomes for queries received in your region within the internal case management tool

  • Share and improve processes identified within HR Source with the wider HR function

  • Perform related project work, as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience within HR field

  • Previous experience of working within a multi-national environment

  • Previous experience in a Team Lead role

  • HR qualification to degree level

  • Fluency in English is essential

  • Strong drive to achieve with a proven track record of delivering results

  • Self-motivated, collaborative and a strong focus on service delivery, quality and efficiency

  • Ability to lead a remote team, communicating through various channels as appropriate

  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the Human Resources organization

  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex HR issues, dealing with and managing confidential information and data

  • Ability to diagnose complex situations and multifaceted problems

  • Ability to problem solve and ‘think on your feet’

  • Excellent planning and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume fast-paced environment where change is constant.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Demonstrated project and time management skills, and initiative in starting and completing multiple projects
