Facebook LED Hardware Engineer, Test in Cork, Ireland
Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated R&D test engineer to develop and implement suitable test programs for LEDs at device, wafer, and system level. The position is particularly suited to a technology development engineer who wishes to further develop their career in a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving R&D environment. This is a full-time position based in our Cork site, Ireland.
Support the fabrication, assembly and systems teams by developing and supporting test equipment and procedures, resulting in good quality test data.
Design, development, and application of hardware & software for novel test solutions applicable to micro-LED devices, systems and displays.
Analysis of data with a good technical understanding to interface to the fabrication team.
Writing and presenting performance reports for the needs of internal and external projects.
Documentation and control responsibility for all processes and procedures related to the position.
Promote and support innovation to facilitate IP generation as appropriate.
Ability to interface with suppliers and partners, from a technical and project management perspective.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably graduate study and qualifications in Micro-electronics, Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or Material Science. Preferably with equipment, process, and characterization development experience.
5+ years’ experience in opto-electronic semiconductor device or system characterization.
Knowledge of micro and nano-fabrication of opto-electronic devices such as LEDs and lasers, and the physics of their behavior.
Understanding of time-domain, frequency domain and temperature based measurements.
Software development for interfacing with test hardware over GPIB or LAN using LABVIEW, C++, VEE or similar.
Test-bench & equipment commission, setup and use.
Experience in large data-set handling and analysis.
- Knowledge of display test methodologies and equipment, reliability testing.
