An opportunity exists for a Senior Advisor, Service Delivery to join Virtustream's Managed Services Organization. The successful candidate will assist with managing an Enterprise customer’s Compute, Network and Storage Infrastructure as part of a group completing daily Service Requests and providing Incident, Change and Problem Management.
This role will require the candidate to be part of a formal support rotation and it should be additionally noted that out of hours on-call efforts will be required as part of incident support and delivering project responsibilities, specifically to implement changes that necessitate impact to Customer production.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Advisor, Service Delivery responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot performance issues with virtualized server and storage platforms.
Manage and support Linux OS, associated hardware and other relevant IT services.
Assist in Managing Customer’s Storage Environment (Isilon and VxRail).
Regularly review system logs for issue prevention and provide timely resolution to discovered issues.
Perform regular systems maintenance, including host, VM, OS and storage updates.
Manage and complete assigned tasks and tickets in a timely and proficient manner while documenting work completed.
Ability to automate tasks.
Assists Help Desk with root cause analysis and tracks assigned actions within team to closure.
Monitor, maintain and inventory; network infrastructure, network systems and components.
Perform other duties as requested.
Strong operational knowledge of Virtualization platform – VCP preferred.
Strong Storage background. Knowledge of Isilon storage preferred.
Strong operational knowledge of the Linux operating system. RedHat certification is an advantage.
Working knowledge of one or more of the following languages; python, perl, ruby, or bash.
Ability to create automation with one of the following technologies is required: Chef, Puppet, Ansible or a shell.
Operational knowledge of networking. VMware NSX, TCP/IP, firewalls and load balancers is a plus.
Knowledge of performance analysis/design.
Strong problem solving experience.
Strong Communication and Cross-Functional skills.
Understanding of ITIL principles and processes.
ITIL certification preferred.
EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.
EDUCATION REQUIRED : Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : 8+ years
