BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) HR Manager in Drogheda, Ireland

Job Description Summary

The HR Manager will have responsibility for managing the strategic and operational HR activity across the Drogheda site and be a key member of the site Leadership Team.

The HR Manager will support the Drogheda site providing strategic and operational HR support and services in order to develop and deliver a people agenda that aligns to the vision, values and strategy of the organisation.

Job Description


  • Partner the Leadership team and their functions to support and drive the people agenda/ business strategy

  • Partner business leaders in the implementation of successful change management

  • Build management capability to facilitate an open, inclusive, values-based environment

  • Work with the country HR team to develop and implement HR strategy

  • Lead and support HR / Organisation Development & Design initiatives and HR functional projects

  • Lead the talent management process and develop appropriate solutions to drive a high Performance Culture and effective succession planning

  • Oversee the management of Recruitment, Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits.

  • Management of industrial relations and employee relation matters.

  • Drive the performance management process, coaching managers in performance management issues.

  • Provide practical HR advice and support to all associates.

  • Understand, communicate and ensure site compliance with employment legislation.

Educational Requirements:

  • Third Level Qualification in HR/Business/Psychology together with additional specialised training and experience.

  • CIPD qualified

Relevant Experience:

  • A minimum of 8+ years HR management experience with at least 4 years operating in a challenging position at HR Manager level – experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment is desirable.

  • Experience of operating in a unionised environment.

  • Decisive in formulating and implementing solutions in line with business plans.

  • Experience of partnering the senior management team and ensuring value add HR support to the business.

  • Ability to mix strategic thinking with proactive and hands-on delivery of solutions.

  • Have a proven track record of successfully implementing organisational change and effective HR initiatives.

  • Excellent working knowledge of employment law.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
