Department Overview

Information Mosaic is a post-trade software products unit within IHS Markit’s Financial Technologies division. As an international team of industry experts we architect and deliver intelligent post-trade software applications to the capital markets globally. We have a proven history transforming business models for the world’s premier financial institutions, enabling them to enter new markets, reduce risk, increase profitability and improve service standards.

We do this by seamlessly managing the huge volume and complex processing of all core post-trade services. These include asset servicing, securities and cash processing, portfolio administration and post trade analytics. IHS Markit Information Mosaic supports the post-trade operations of over 60 financial institutions worldwide.

The Client Solutions team are a team of highly skilled industry experts taking care of all business aspects of project implementations in IHS Markit IM.

Client Solutions covers all aspects from Client and Internal training, business analysis to product consultancy supporting project implementations.

A very important part of IHS Markit IM’s project implementations is the Solution Definition/Business Process Mapping process which has its own very strong methodology

The Business Process Mapping (BPM) stage provides detailed operational workflow procedures designed for optimal efficiency. Together we design process flows detailing out interaction with internal/external stakeholders. It results in a clearly defined and agreed scope based on target operating model which means no surprises in later stages.

The Product Consultant role is one of the most important roles in any client implementation. In the initial phase of an implementation (BPM), they work with various stakeholders on the client side, to define the target state operational process, based on which they then design and implement the most optimal product configuration. They also assist in finalizing scope, identifying gaps, defining client requirements for these gaps as well as assisting the client in definition of their test suites & acceptance criteria. Product Consultants are also very heavily involved in the later phases of UAT acceptance testing ensuring all client issues are turned around in time and addressed with satisfaction so as to get them live within the defined timeframe.

Position Summary

Product consultant is a key member of a client implementation team and works with the client throughout the entire project lifecycle, participating in all the key project activities, right from Business Process Mapping to Go-live. The product consultant also assists with key project decisions and is core to on-time project delivery.

Duties & accountabilities

  • Actively contribute in client engagements for business process mapping and requirement workshops.

  • Work with the client to define the most optimal future state operational process and related product configuration.

  • Manage scope by providing innovative solutions and challenging all new client requirements and change requests but simultaneously ensuring that client gets the required business value.

  • Assists in creating documents for all the Business process mapping deliverables – Models, Output report, Processes and Configuration set.

  • Elaborate and deliver clearly defined requirement documents without subsequent change requests.

  • Work closely with product design & development team to analyse and design functional enhancements.

  • Provide onsite product consultancy and assist the client with acceptance criteria gathering and support throughout the project life-cycle

  • Ability to build & maintain strong relationships with all internal & external client stakeholders.

  • Ability to elicit requirements, identify solutions & complete requirement documentation.

  • Ability to take ownership of a client from initiation to go live, through business process mapping, requirements analysis, UAT, go live support ensuring quick turnaround of issues at every stage.

  • Understand the industry best practices and usage of the product

  • Underlying business, implementation & product usage of assigned client/s.

  • Delivery focused with good time management and personal organisational skills.

  • Share business knowledge with all members of the implementation team, and the wider organization when required.

  • Provides assistance and business expertise to the Support Team and the QA Team in verifying client reported issues and internally raised issues.

  • Travel will be required. Candidate should also be open to short and long term onsite assignments

Business Competencies

Education & Experience

  • Degree in business/finance discipline with an understanding of Capital markets, especially the Post Trade domain.

  • 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst/Implementation Consultant in the Capital Markets Corporate actions/Asset servicing space would be ideal

  • Preferably experienced in Corporate Actions Product implementations

  • Experience of industry standard interfaces (e.g. SWIFT, XML)

  • Good working knowledge of SQL & basic database concepts.

  • User acceptance testing experience

  • Understanding and experience of overall project life cycle
