Provide clinical guidance and support to the PDL development team with regards to medications and place in therapy.

Provide clinical guidance and oversight for the development of clinical / utilization management programs. Meet with pharmaceutical manufacturers to receive information regarding clinical aspects of medications and evaluate the evidence provided.

Primary Responsibilities: PDL Management Evaluate medications being reviewed by PDL group from clinical standpoint - advantages, disadvantages over other therapies, place in therapy, therapeutic equivalence.

Develop clinical content for PDL Management Committee review As the clinical lead, work in conjunction with communications / marketing on materials necessary to support programs.

This would include consumer, customer and physician programs Clinical / Utilization Management programs Evaluate medications and/or therapeutic classes being considered for clinical/utilization management programs to determine program components and clinical criteria as needed.

Present programs to UnitedHealthcare National Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee as appropriate Lead and/or provide support for clinical projects Work in conjunction with communications / marketing on materials necessary to support program.

This would include consumer, customer and physician programs Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Engagement Obtain information from pharmaceutical manufacturers regarding clinical evidence Critically evaluate to determine quality of evidence Required Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree Must hold and maintain at least one valid US based pharmacist license without restrictions Completion of clinical or managed care residency Strong clinical and analytic background Careers with Optum.
