Position Objective

  • Ensure strong product governance and portfolio oversight across the region

  • Support in the execution of the business strategy across Africa, closely working with the regional seniors, as well as the on the ground banking and sales teams.

  • Own the product approval programs and work with Global and local partners to enhance the offering

  • Drive the rollout and growth of the products in various countries, measuring the performance against agreed targets, driving internal and external sales support with materials, trainings and participation.

  • Based on market dynamics, develop / customize our product offering to suite emerging trends and new demands from Citi Clients

Key Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will have cluster P and L responsibility for the Export Trade Product offerings, management of business drivers and development of product client segment strategy working closely with the EMEA Export Product Head

  • Support in the execution of structured deals where the transaction complexity needs either syndication, sell down or extensive legal guidance in implementation while working closely with Trade sales, distribution teams, operations and legal.

  • Act as point of contact for pricing transactions.

  • Guide Africa cluster on the new innovations and product launches that can benefit their countries respectively.

  • Ensure a high quality credit portfolio at all times.

  • Ensure satisfactory results on internal/external audits

  • Ensure product solutions are managed within robust control frameworks and are aligned with regulatory and institutional requirements

  • Work with Market Managers to increase trade wallet penetration of strategically identified clients

  • Manage communication with back-office teams (Operations, TCS) to ensure timely set-ups

  • Previous work experience in Product or Operations or Relationship Management

  • Experience of business development, building and maintaining key relationships

  • Developing marketing strategies to sell the Bank’s relevant products

  • Track record in designing and implementing new processes and procedures for credit products
