In this role you will be responsible for the implementation of the AeroDocs solution. AeroDocs is the easy-to-use safety and compliance document management system for aviation. AeroDocs lets any airline take control of the XML editing of operational manuals, and manage document distribution to pilot EFB devices. This end-to-end approach delivers multiple benefits including better compliance and full control of the complete document lifecycle, with reductions in labour requirements, operational costs and aircraft emissions.

You will partner with Customers to understand strategies and objectives, define the detailed scope, design processes, identify functional gaps and assist the customer to implement AeroDocs solutions. You will serve as the link between the technical and business views of systems, facilitating dialogue between Customer SME’s and our in-house Design & Development teams. Your contribution ensures that the solutions being developed satisfy the needs of users and stakeholders, delivered in a dependable way, meeting safety and commercial imperatives.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Lead the functional implementation of the Viasat Solution. Investigating the “as is” processes and defining “to be” processes based around the AeroDocs Solution.

  • Work closely and successfully with customer, design and development personnel to conduct cross-functional requirements gathering and documentation sessions and deliver accurate, timely and complete requirements artefacts.

  • Gather, document, prioritize, and present clear, detailed requirements and in-depth user stories for new features as well as updates to existing features making use of advanced requirements management tools.

  • Work closely with design & development to document appropriate solutions and gain customer acceptance.

  • Work with the quality team to develop, manage and execute User Acceptance test plans

  • Document delivered features including required training materials, presenting the feature to the customer and managing the acceptance process.

  • Configure AeroDocs Solutions to meet customer needs and preparing the systems for customer training and testing.

  • Deliver effective Application training to project teams and end users

  • Support the customer with conference room pilots, investigating reported issues and preparing Jira tickets for resolution

  • Demonstrate effective communication, vertically and horizontally across the business and act as an internal advocate for customer.

  • Consistently follow and apply methodologies, BA practices, SDLC, change management, and compliance practices and policies.

  • Work collaboratively on a small team and as an individual contributor.

Requirements WHAT YOU NEED:

Experience Required:

  • Implementing enterprise Document Management Systems either in-house or with a professional services organisation OR

  • 3+ years of experience as an Business analyst in an IT or Operations organization

Experience of one or more of the following:

  • Technical Writing: Experience creating well structured documents and of technical writing process and practices, style standards

  • Document management software: Understands how to use document software (minimally Microsoft Word, ideally more sophisticated packages, including DITA, Arbortext, Framemaker, MadCap flare, etc.) to create well formatted documentation

  • Document management: Good understanding of document and revision control

  • Airline Operations: Experience in management role within an airline, especially with exposure to regulatory compliance and/or compliance auditing

  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment

  • Capable of applying resourceful and creative thought processes to resolve problems

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle and project management methodologies

  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload and direction from management and/or customers
