Citigroup Institutional Clients Group (ICG) is a leading provider of Cash Management, Trade and Treasury, Securities, Fund Services, Capital Markets, and Private Banking products and services to financial institution, corporate, and high net-worth clients around the world.

The ICG Know Your Customer (KYC) Utility is an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) function within the ICG OandT that is responsible globally for ensuring the ICG meets and exceeds the standards mandated by the Corporate Compliance organization and external regulators.

The ICG KYC Support Unit:

•Develops and manages a dedicated ICG KYC program structure aligned to the Global AML PMO, with consistent structure, tools, processes and reporting

•Executes against ICG’s delivery commitment related to the Global AML PMO workstreams (Governance and Oversight, Risk Assessment, Customer Due Diligence/Know Your Customer, AML Monitoring, Remote Deposit Capture, Independent Testing)

•Defines and coordinates delivery of other AML commitments as they arise

Role Outline/Job Summary

The CitiKYC In-Process Checker will serve within the ICG KYC Quality Assurance Review Team.

The team is tasked with ensuring high quality within KYC records, focusing on accuracy, completeness, and consistency of KYC records and in adherence to KYC policies.

The job expectation is that the new hire will, through training and on-the-job learning, develop a thorough understanding of KYC requirements, and apply that knowledge during the review process. Findings are expected to be fed back to users to enhance the quality of the record and identify root causes to avoid future findings.

The objective is to improve the quality of the KYC Records.

Core Responsibilities:

•Conduct end to end in-process reviews of KYC records in-country/-region

•Report findings on a daily basis to ensure records are updated and root cause cleaned up/identified and addressed

•Assist in root cause analysis by identifying and analyzing areas of common defect/issues/themes

•Achieve operational goals set, and deliver against agreed targets in terms of quality and productivity

Assist with department projects / initiatives as requested

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

•Ensure completeness and accuracy of KYC records

•Effective and close communication with KYC Owners, Makers, Compliance to improve KYC record quality

•Work with colleagues within the Business Support Unit (BSU) and AML Compliance to resolve KYC issues

Participate in ad hoc projects related to quality improvements



Bachelor's degree or equivalent


•A proven track record with at least extensive years of relevant KYC/AML experience (could be one of the following: Quality Assurance, Client Onboarding, Compliance, Audit and Regulatory)

•Experience in Financial Services institutions a plus

•Experience and knowledge of AML and KYC compliance objectives and regulatory requirements and objectives


•Compliance, Audit and Regulatory experience desirable

•Strong Operations experience desirable

•Global experience would be beneficial

Certifications (preferred):

ACAMS, Any other prominent certification in AML/KYC


•Strong written and oral communication skills

•Strong analytical and time management skills, excellent attention to details

•Proven ability to work independently and be a self-starter

Comfort with technology including Excel and web-based systems


•Ability to influence and motivate partners within and outside of the KYC Utility

•Proven track record executing on projects and deliverables

•Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work within tight and changeable timeframe while still maintaining high level of accuracy

•Understanding of Citi AML standards and AML regulatory requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and aptitude in communicating with management
