Position Description Overview

The Network Engineer / Analyst is responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting and developing network solutions to support all network services including client hosts connections, core wireless, Dialup, Internet and International networks. The scope encompasses support of all communications infrastructure including cables, switches, routers, firewalls, load-balancers and gateways in order to provide optimal performance for users and clients. This specific role will predominantly require working knowledge of product from Cisco, Checkpoint & Citrix, and have a strong focus on Remote Clients / Suppliers / Partners Connectivity. The role spread is currently 60% Operations & 40% Projects, and will transition (depending on performance) towards more and more projects work both in time allocation and complexity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, installs, and maintains the enterprise network to meet the functional objectives of the business. Designs, develops and tests optimal telecommunications networks and related processes, including intra-corporate infrastructure and client connectivity solutions. Studies current telecom cost and proposes alternative methods to reduce cost, improve service quality. Proposes the use of new telecom products and networks. Assesses network application needs, provides network modeling and simulation consulting to clarify client server or internet/intranet application functionality, and evaluates and implement new advanced networking technologies. Involved with the network infrastructure, and the planning and design of enterprise local-area/wide-area network (LAN/WAN) solutions. Performs additional job duties as required.
