IBM Pension Country Analyst in DUBLIN, Ireland
Position DescriptionIBM has established a number of retirement funds in Europe to meet its obligations with regard to post retirement pension benefits. The country retirement fund Analyst role will involve providing support to IBM as sponsoring employer of the benefit plan– both in country and geography management and the Pension Plan(s) Trustees.The retirement fund analyst will also coordinate and monitor the Pension Plan service providers including
Administrators and Actuaries.
Various advisors such as Auditors & Lawyers
Understanding of country retirement fund structure and local environment
Keep abreast of local regulations, benefit structure and legislation changes that might impact the plan.
Manage the day to day operations of the plan – cash management and control, disbursements, monitoring of service providers and reporting to key parties including sponsors and trustees.
Maintain a framework of appropriate controls over operational running of the Plan, and in particular in relation to delegated activities.
Facilitate the governance framework of the plan supporting trustee meetings, delegated committee meetings regulatory reporting.
Appropriate interaction between Company sponsor and Trustees
Interface with Sponsor and plan administrator to provide data to appropriate parties, Actuaries, Accounting (US GAAP & Statutory) and tax or regulations.
Exercise strong control environment in areas of contract management, bank accounts, reconciliations and expense management.
Coordinate and attend all Trustee meetings.
Collate all performance material from Fund Managers on a monthly/Quarterly basis.
SkillsEnvironment Knowledge of Banking operations and investment fund structures Knowledge of Pension regulation and reporting requirements Managing Relationships.
Maintain and monitor relationships with pension fund administrators, custodians, Legal, Audit, Tax, Consultants and Actuaries.
Main contact point for pension fund Investment Managers.
Facilitate key parties including sponsors and trustees.
Manage projects (e.g. agree, maintain and review project plans and timelines)
At least 3 years experience
Ability to work under pressure and with outside organizations;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required: second language an advantage
Pro-active, well organized and flexible self-starter;
Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills (Power Point and Access skills a plus);
Experience in a financial role
Degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
