PRODUCT AND TEAM OVERVIEW
Business Intelligence (BI) is an exciting branch of software engineering focused on achieving operational excellence in enterprises through the use of big data. As the world’s biggest supplier of BI systems, SAP ensure that companies can efficiently manage staff and resources through the use of analytics and reporting.
The Dublin BI Predictive Analytics team will be responsible for the creation and extension of offerings in this space. The team consists of developers, QAs, UX designers and data scientists, and is working at the forefront of this challenging topic.
ROLE DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTATIONS
You will also get to work in our next generation AppHaus. The AppHaus is a unique physical space for software development, and it is a living embodiment of the philosophy of Design Thinking. You will be working in an Agile environment using industry best practices.
Main responsibilities include the following:
Participate in all phases of the development cycle
Demonstrate an ability to lead particular topics
Contribute to architecture and scope definition
Architect efficient and reusable front end systems that drive complex web applications.
Deliver the appropriate draft technical documentation to technical writing staff
Express new ideas and present them
Communicate proactively, precisely & accurately
Interact with colleagues in a highly international environment
Preparation of unit tests
Focus on functional and non-functional quality
Experience in building beautiful UIs from the ground up.
Proven track record in design and delivery of high quality products
Strong technical leadership and mentoring abilities
Track record of producing high quality and testable code, using TDD
Ability to understand and communicate complex technical landscapes
Familiarity with full stack development in a 3-tiered architecture
Experience in Java development
Good working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Experience in an Agile environment, preferably using TDD
Testing frameworks including SoapUI & Selenium.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
5 years experience
Proven track record for delivery of advanced product functionality
Fluent in English
High levels of curiosity and autonomy
Experience of agile software development methodologies and Test Driven Development
