BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Process Engineer in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

Job Description Summary

We are now recruiting for the role of Process Engineer who will be assigned to the Swatch production line. This role will be on days, based at the Dun Laoghaire site.

As a member of the Swatch engineering team, the Process Engineer is involved in delivering on key process, quality, safety, maintenance and production goals in a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process improvement through identification of problem areas/opportunities for improvement and engineering the necessary changes, following up with production, tool room and outside resources as appropriate.

  • Manage engineering projects as required. Liaise with vendors in procuring and assessing new equipment.

  • Work as part of a validation team for the validation of new processes, equipment upgrades and new product introduction.

  • Root cause analysis of process issues driven by non-conformance.

  • Put in place permanent fixes, supported by scientific analysis, to ensure that the process is operating at an optimal level.

  • Support the maintenance function in the analysis of machine/ process problems.

  • Work cross functionally to assure high levels of quality in finished product.

  • Ensure associates work in compliance with quality rules.

  • Ensure that associates are working in a safe manner and that existing and new tasks are risk assessed.

  • Investigate any accidents and near misses in the relevant area and drive corrective actions to reduce safety risks.

  • Analyse Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data to improve control systems, trouble-shooting guides and training programmes.

  • Measure and control results through analysis of production data, product quality levels and associated costs and continuously update programmes to improve performance.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years process engineering experience.

  • Mechanical and Tooling experience.

  • Experience in new product introduction / line ramp up.

  • Experience in applying a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize production metrics.

  • Data analysis skills and experience with six sigma techniques.

  • Familiarity with documentation within a regulated industry is advantageous.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
