The Functional Laboratory in Medtronic, plc, is a service oriented GMP laboratory supporting multiple Medtronic businesses to bring drug combination and medical device products to market release. The Laboratory personnel are directly involved in supporting in-process testing, finished product testing and release. The Laboratory is also involved in new product introduction and transfer and validation of Test Methods.
Associate Quality Engineers are directly involved in ensuring the highest laboratory standards are continually met. You will contribute to the daily scheduling of the Lab. You will be responsible for driving Laboratory investigations and deviations, initiating appropriate corrective actions and following through to implementation while using robust root-cause analysis tools. You will be technically competent in laboratory equipment and provide support and guidance on validation/ troubleshooting activities. You will also be required to train relevant personnel in Test procedures. You will be required to ensure that the laboratory is prepared for execution of all testing to support PC, OQ/PQ and manufacturing requirements. You will drive and support development of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). You will participate in audit preparation and follow up and perform routine Laboratory duties as assigned.
You will lead and support continuous improvement projects. You will liaise with cross functional teams, utilizing influencing skills where appropriate, to drive improved quality outcomes. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of process and products within the lab in order to support process improvements/changes.
We are looking for a qualified person to Bachelor’s degree (Level 8 NFQ) in Engineering/Science or related discipline and preferably with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a medical devices or related environment. You are experienced with practical working knowledge of Functional techniques and equipment. Excellent knowledge of SAP, Functional tests and Product knowledge is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, a good understanding of GMP and documentation practices for a technical/professional working environment.
