We are looking for the brightest and best strategic thinkers to join The Dock, Accenture’s global centre for innovation. Based in one of the world’s most advanced buildings right in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands, our Strategy Leads work with a team of global experts in fields including: artificial intelligence, IoT, digital marketing, liquid applications, cyber security, advanced analytics, rapid prototype design and experiential design to shape and lead cutting edge technology projects solving some of society’s biggest issues.

What you’ll be doing

Based in The Dock, this role is a part of the growing Strategy Team, focused on bringing the new concepts developed by The Dock to market by understanding our clients’ businesses challenges, envisioning new business models and making sure the client is at the heart of everything we do. As a Strategy Manager/Senior Manager you will;

Create new strategies and business models

· Work with our clients and internal project teams to identify the disruptive impact and business potential of harnessing evolving technology

· Help our clients to think like a disruptive start-up and reimagine how their industries and business models could look in the future

· Use your previous experience of disrupting markets to create new successful new strategies through applying new technology or business model innovation

· Design new business models that will ensure the innovations developed at The Dock can be sustainable, scalable and deliver value in the market

Project Ideation and exploration

· Drive and support the exploration of Strategy opportunities at The Dock

· Work to tight timeframes to shape ideas, create connections and identify opportunities

· Challenge the status quo when necessary to get to the optimum solution

· Research and apply critical thinking to industry trends, competitor dynamics and current events to provide relevant business insights

· Synthesize findings and summarize a broad range of data inputs into frameworks that enable clear communication of data and insights

Opportunity Mobilisation

· Turn ideas into actions; creating and defining issues that The Dock can deliver on

· Manage a small team and overseeing others with different skills sets and backgrounds

· Project manage to progress and move from ideas to opportunities with pace and accuracy

Relationship Development and Management

· Manage key stakeholders to build relationships across Accenture and the wider ecosystem

· Bring best practice thinking to facilitating meetings, presentations and workshops

· Cultivate follow-on opportunities where possible and developing compelling proposals

· Facilitate senior stakeholder meetings and drive conversations with firm leadership

Team working and collaboration

· Take a strong management role

· Work across teams with different skills sets and capabilities

· Focus on building commitment, buy in and engagement across the business at all levels

· Provide intellectual leadership for teams by generating ideas and conceptual frameworks to guide research, analysis and output

· Have a proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment

· Set the strategic direction set for team and broader organisation

· Mentor and develop junior colleagues, both on and off project teams


· Be extremely solution orientated to succeed in a dynamic and fast paced environment

· Take ownership and accountability for shaping and directing own work

· Take a positive and proactive approach to ambiguity to carve out clarity and clear objectives


Your skills and qualifications


· Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree, or equivalent

· 5 years experience in strategic role (i.e. business unit strategy, functional strategy, growth & innovation strategy, portfolio strategy) at a senior level in a major organisation with a proven track record of innovation and success

· Strong leadership presence, ability to influence at senior management and executive level with excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong Project management skills to drive a project from initiation stage to project close

· Proven delivery track record in managing/supporting IT/ Business projects and stakeholders

· Ability to prioritise tasks, work with schedules, manage resources while focusing on team goals

· Strong Process/Business Change skills

· Strong relationship building and communications abilities

· Proactive in approach, self-starter and requires minimum supervision in order to get job done

· Strong Microsoft Project skills, along with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills
