Structural Engineer:

We are is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Limerick office.

Due to ongoing success in winning new and interesting projects in Ireland and Europe, fantastic opportunities have arisen for a career focused Structural Engineer to join one of the largest engineering consultancies in Ireland.

The Building Structures team in Ireland has over 90 Engineers and Revit Modellers.

The role will report into to the Office Manager & Structures leadership team and will involve the design of every stage of the project lifecycle, from the initial project briefing through design, construction and final sign off. The successful candidate will be the liaison for the structural team with the client and all other disciplines and will have a significant role at site meetings with clients and contractors.

Candidates should be degree qualified with 5 to 10 years’ building engineering design experience as a consulting engineer and either be Chartered or on route to Chartership. Engineers should be capable of producing design drawings, diagrams and schematics, project specifications and schedules for building structures design that comply with Irish and European Standards, Building Regulations and incorporate sustainable design standards such as required by BREEAM and/or LEED.

Candidates should be able to:

•Prepare designs and calculations for various building structures and various structural materials.

Experience in the design of High Rise buildings will be an advantage.

•Design using Revit in the BIM environment.

•Design using Robot, CSA, GSA or similar packages

•Prepare reports on building structures and building conditions

•Carry out site visits to inspect, survey and report on installation works and interface with contractors.

•Represent Arup at project, design and site meetings and respond to queries as necessary.

•Carry out tasks in order of priority to ensure that project and client programs are maintained.

•Comment on contractor’s proposals.

•Carry out necessary duties to obtain approval from the relevant statutory authorities, landlords and other relevant parties.

•Maintain contact with clients and other members of the design team to ensure project success and good client relationships.
