If you are successful in securing the position of Apprentice Fitter with us, we will support you for 4 years through your first step onto the career ladder. Our apprenticeships run in conjunction with SOLAS, the National Training Authority and this will be successfully completed once you have completed 208 weeks service including time within Diageo and time at college, which will also be graded.

Purpose of the Role
We are currently looking for an Apprentice Fitter to join our team at St James’ Gate brewery. You will become a part of the Engineering department, whose purpose is to maintain the plant and make sure every drop of Guinness leaves the brewery on time and to the highest quality.
During your apprenticeship you will learn specific skills and complete college courses within your relevant subject.
During the phases based on site, you will provide assistance to team members of the Engineering Department in their day-to day duties and maintenance of the plant, by applying skills gained during both college and on the job training.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Minimum Entry Requirements
Completed Leaving Certificate, or equivalent, with 5 Ds (including Maths & English)
In addition, the following qualities are required:
An interest in and aptitude for the field (i.e. Electrical or Mechanical engineering).
The ability to work well as a member of a team.
The ability to adapt to change and develop skills to meet these changes.
The ability to extend their skills base beyond a single discipline.
