Senior .NET Developer
An excellent opportunity for an experienced hands-on senior .NET Developer with application architecture design experience to join us in delivering custom-built applications for internal company and client systems, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
Hands-on development, configuration and optimisation of .NET applications
Design of new application and technical architecture components for .NET applications of medium-to-high complexity
Assisting in the introduction of new technology solutions that are medium-to-complex in nature from design through to overseeing rollout.
Providing full estimations of delivery effort across all areas of design, build, test and rollout activities
Creation of design documentation from initial solution blueprints through to component technical specifications
Engaging with product owners and business users as well other technologists in analysing functional and non-functional requirements to help support application design decisions
Providing development support to various application development teams including setting technical direction in conjunction with .NET application development team leads
Provide coaching and mentoring to junior resources including guidance on best practice and enforcing standards
Professional Skills Requirements:
5 years’ experience working as a .NET Developer delivering in a full stack Microsoft environment
Experience in the development, rollout and support of changes for new and existing.NET applications (e.g. web applications, windows applications, windows services, batch packages).
A proven track record of the design of .NET application changes of medium-to-high complexity
Strong practical understanding of web, API and cloud development concepts, design patterns and industry best practices
Experience in database design, development and optimisation (SQL Server toolset or similar, T-SQL)
Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities, with an ability to liaise effectively across multiple teams and levels;
Have experience working closely with application development leads and other technical architects as well as scrum masters and product owners.
Have experience facilitating workshops/focus groups with proven strong engagement and communications skills with senior technical stakeholders.
Have experience coaching and mentoring junior resources
Strong oral, written and presentation skills with all level of technical and business stakeholders
Solid understanding of multiple SDLC principles and their application to different systems and projects (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Scrum methodology)

Knowledge of automated test frameworks and best practices for automated testing for .NET applications
Hands-on implementation of application security for web-based applications (e.g. SSL configuration, token authentication, encryption etc)
Ability to assess and recommend different potential application architectures, technologies and vendors based on the requirements for new systems and solutions
Experience as part of a team delivering systems utilising Microsoft Azure e.g. Virtual Machines, Enterprise Integration tools (incl. API Management, Service Bus, BizTalk Services), Security Identity, BI Tools.
Knowledgeable in DevOps practices including continuous integration, continuous build and/or continuous deployment.
Understanding of SOA offerings with proven experience in the design and delivery of web services for systems integration between systems including legacy systems and third party companies/organisations (e.g. RESTful, WCF, WebAPI etc)
Solid experience of source control management tools including setup and/or ongoing configuration/administration (e.g. SVN, TFS, VSS, Git)
Hands-on experience of middleware systems and messaging systems
Working knowledge of Windows server operating systems wrt application development and configuration (including system components, error management, monitoring, traces)
Awareness of network/firewall security principles
Experience in designing performance test plans, co-ordinating their execution and interpretation of results to identify tangible performance improvements.
