The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
The Quality Engineer (Analytical) is responsible for performing and maintaining the effectiveness of the site Analytical testing systems, ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products that meet customer needs whilst maintaining compliance.
Main Responsibilities of Quality Engineer (Analytical)
Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety Rules and Regulations at the site.
Responsible for incoming testing of chemical raw materials and liaising with vendors on quality issues/performance.
Raw materials testing and analysis techniques include;
Carry out test method validation and training when required.
Initiating Exception Reports for discrepancies observed during inspection / testing & review activities.
Participate in plant projects as requested
Supporting management in ensuring that the Quality Management System is fully implemented and effective.
Strong understanding of compliance and quality standards.
Very good understanding of the analytical techniques & methods.
Very good interpersonal skills
Education and Background:
Third level science / engineering or Manufacturing qualification
Two years in a Manufacturing / Science or Engineering environment.
