We support the organization through the delivery of automation solutions, using existing, new and emerging technologies to enhance savings, improve productivity and quality and reduce cost. The Associate Director of Automation Development & Operations will be part of Optum Ireland’s Automation Centre of Excellence and will be responsible for leading the Automation Development and Operations Management teams through the delivery and management of Automation solutions across the entire organization, including the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Cognitive Technologies. Primary Responsibilities: Leading and developing a team of automation developers and architects as well as the Automation Ops Management team to create, implement and manage automation solutions Defining and implementing the automation technology strategy and capability development Designing and implementing best practice development and ops management standards and documentation best practice, with a focus on continuous improvement Provide architectural oversight over solution designs to ensure consistency and continuity across the company’s IT infrastructure and delivery teams Work closely with Optum and UnitedHealth Care business units, Technology and IT Infrastructure to ensure the correct layer of governance is in place across the organization to enable delivery and management of Automation solutions Report on status of development, quality, Automation operations, change control and system performance to management Establish and maintain appropriate operating procedures that ensure compliance with internal control and other relevant company policies and practices Accountability for the monitoring and maintenance of live processes as well as the infrastructure, capacity management, planning and change control Keep up to date with industry standards, and technology changes to help build robust systems to accommodate the industry requirements and business needs Investigate and implement new technologies, ensuring an effective partnership with Optum’s Innovation Lab and Analytics teams to leverage the expertise in data science, machine learning and cognitive technologies Required Qualifications: Significant experience in leading and managing a team of developersExtensive experience with software development \ programming \ database conceptsConsiderable experience in delivering RPAProven experience in delivering successful IT \ business software projects Bachelor Degree in Engineering \ Computer Science or related work experienceGood understanding of programming concepts and a strong programming background in one or more modern languageSolid understanding of typical Enterprise IT infrastructure \ architectureStrong database skills with proven experience using SQL Server \ Oracle \ MySQL etcGood understanding of the key requirements documents involved in a delivery lifecycle (functional, technical, testing documents)Well-organized with good communication and reporting skillsSelf-motivated, team player, action and results orientedExposure to Agile delivery methodsGood understand of Ticketing and tracking tools, such as JIRA Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in the Insurance Industry (preferably Health Insurance) Strong Experience working in a global, matrixed environment Reporting/ Analytics skillset Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook Careers with Optum.
