Ops Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to add to our team. Knowledge in power systems theory and applications is essential to this role. This candidate should be able to demonstrate ability for critical thinking, work efficiently and assist in critical projects cross functionally. This candidate should show desire to learn power systems and curiosity specific to mission critical facilities. This is a 12 week internship position located in our Dublin office.
Assist electrical engineers on projects and daily tasks, working cross-functionally with design, construction, R&D, and software teams
Collaborate with site engineers to identify and store building documentation
Analyze and improve current processes, learn and leverage internal tools to automate as much as possible
Review and validate power systems database accuracy
Review metrics across the Data Center fleet and identify discrepancies and opportunities to improve
Initiate service and material procurement tasks for engineers to review
Review server layout plans for feasibility and compliance with power system limitations
Attend and participate subject matter expert (SME) meetings
Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, mechanical systems audits, startup testing, and commissioning.
Participate in equipment failure and outage incidents and drive Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA).
Review and update data center mechanical "as-built" documentation as re-configurations occur
Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Working toward a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Prior work experience in the technology industry
