Microsoft Business Operations manages the WW operationalization of Microsoft’s most complex product and service launches. We also have the charter to define, build, run and optimize best in class Product, Offer, and Pricing services for Microsoft.


We are looking for a proven leader to manage our Global Operational Readiness service in support of our Planning & Launch (P&L) team. As the Manager of the P&L Readiness team, you will lead a group of highly skilled readiness specialists with global responsibility. You will be a business partner and trusted advisor to leadership teams across Operations, WW Learning, OCP, M&O, in creating and delivering critical readiness assets to our MS Partner community. These assets are frequently leveraged for internal communications to field and Operations teams. At any time, the team manages the readiness accountabilities for hundreds of launches and over the course of year, will produce over 3,000 pieces of readiness content. You will also own the processes and platform in support of delivering our readiness assets, you’ll expertly grasp readiness work drivers and actively manage your resource plan to scale in support of evolving business demand, you’ll own and manage our readiness investment plan, stakeholder management, ROB rhythms, people management, and mentoring and coaching of the team. The Readiness Director will be accountable for:

  • Leading a global team of readiness managers.

  • Driving the strategic and planning rhythm for your team, plugging into a variety of other workstreams.

  • Coaching, mentoring and people management.

  • Leveraging solution area identified subject matter expertise to curate or create the optimal content to enable audiences to quickly understand the innovation being delivered by Microsoft.

  • Partnering closely with cross-company teams to understand product roadmaps, updates, launches, go-to-market plans, and overall objectives and translate those into readiness objectives that demonstrate the value of Microsoft solutions.

  • Continuously seeking and understanding feedback from audiences about the impact of the content and where we can improve.

  • Developing operational excellence through consistent and robust practices, processes and documentation.

  • Advising stakeholders on best launch readiness practices.

  • Driving articulate messaging and communication for Readiness services across company and across all levels of the organization to drive awareness, understanding and alignment on plans, roadmaps and implications.

  • Working with peers across Operations to share and leverage best practices with other shared services functions.

  • Monitoring outsourcing model vs the financial plan of record and provide insights to the variances and areas of opportunity.

  • Performing analyses designed to drive business insight and diagnose resourcing challenges.

  • Providing key insights on trending analysis along with long-term impact assessments.


Basic Qualifications

  • 8 years' minimum experience in Operations, Project Management, or Change Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree plus minimum eight (8) years business experience/acumen in Operations, Program Management, Process Design, or change management. MBA preferred.

  • A track record of exceptional partnering across a wide-array of internal business groups, executive stakeholders and execution partners with ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels

  • Proven impact and influence skills - ability to work broadly across disparate groups to gain agreement on direction, integrate disparate opinions into cohesive strategy/message and present/defend recommendations

  • Exceptional written, verbal and creative communication skills, including ability to translate insight into content, create slide or written presentations, create overall communication plans

  • Knowledge of Microsoft operational capabilities

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate uncertain situations to drive for clarity; work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-speed environment
