Tasks and Tools
IT Technology Consultant develops and provides products and services to optimize/automate IT infrastructure services, improve work efficiency and liaises with 3rd level Support. Provides technical assistance and knowledge to DTMS staff. Revises and updates existing programs and provides required documentation. Is able to handle cross-infrastructure topics in order to perform all tasks related to infrastructure integration. Overall monitoring, operating and supporting of all IT systems in Ireland.
Main areas of Expertise
Project Planning, Infrastructure Support, IT Operations administration and knowledge transfer to team members
You will be responsible for assisting the country Team Lead with administration of the IT operations, cost management and infrastructure support. You will be responsible for taking on relevant IT projects and driving them to successful completion. Process improvement and innovation are key requirements of the role that should be exercised at all opportunity’s. Occasionally you will be required to support out of hours’ activities for infrastructure / event projects. Strong focus on proactive and independent working.
Tasks & Responsibilities of this Role:
Local IT project management
Interest in technology trends
Business process improvement for IT and LOB’s
Process and product innovation
Provide stable IT environment to the local business and acts as an IT entry point for all local topics
Monitor effectiveness of vendor support & escalate issues
Supports planning of IT- implementation
Knowledge transfer to team members
Manage & maintain daily operational requests & support issues
Customizing and development of enhancements
Operational of current & future IT projects
Provide technical documentation
Support for system optimization
Second and Third level support (Infrastructure Services)
Ensure the business continuity of the IT services
Global & Local Project roll-outs
Adapting and driving projects to improve customer satisfaction.
Conduct the project planning activities and manage the execution of projects according to plan
Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project’s objectives
Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.

Additional Roles in Local IT
Management of infrastructure/desk environment
Manage and maintain IT Server/Network infrastructure/Desktop environment
Management/Operational Task of the Telephony Infrastructure
Network security including firewalls, anti-virus, data protection & intrusion prevention
Backups/archiving services, disaster recovery planning and testing.
Plans, designs, implements and leads installation projects
5 years’ experience in IT support environment
Has broad knowledge of content/products in market/industry/functional area and is able to adapt new changes/practices in the following areas:
Soft skill Training
Understanding of business process within at least one application responsibly technology area
Soft skills ability and has demonstrated this in escalation handling
