  • The Role:*

As Senior HR Manager / HR Programme Manager you will own the HR Projects Road Map across the HR function. Working cross functionally, you will be fully responsible for aligning and delivering the associated HR projects and infrastructure to support ICON’s business drivers.

In addition to this you will directly lead a number of key projects on the HR roadmap and in particular will directly project manage any acquisitions made during the year.

This is a great opportunity to lead the annual strategic programmes set for ICON’s HR department globally and be involved in key initiatives which span the full HR spectrum.

  • Role Responsibilities:*

  • Consult with the HR leadership team to propose the annual Programmes Plan ensuring alignment on project goals, time frames, funding requirements, processes for accomplishing the project, and staffing requirements.

  • Co-ordinate a portfolio of projects and align components of the HR strategy with key business drivers, in order to achieve a set of stated business objectives.

  • Responsible for the delivery and execution of projects contained in the HR project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business goals, by tracking key project milestones, timelines and recommending adjustments/solutions when required.

  • Ensure that the program delivers the planned benefits and that these are fully realized in partnership with the business by evaluating effectiveness, post programme launch. Seek additional areas of benefit providing value added opportunities, where possible; by continuously making improvements or refinements throughout the delivery of projects.

  • Define and manage the inter-dependencies between projects. Identify and resolve inter-project conflicts and competing resource requirements.

  • Where necessary complete or support the completion of any capex or idesc submissions for individual projects and manage the annual capex submission for all of HR.

  • Provide ongoing management of the HR Projects Roadmap, with weekly/monthly reviews and reporting agreed metrics on a monthly basis to the HR leadership team.

  • Responsible for the development and ongoing effectiveness of ICON’s HR project management methods in order to support best practice, seek internal customer feedback, implement corrective actions and exploit opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.

  • In collaboration with HR key stakeholders, establish and maintain regular communication with project teams, set development objectives and give performance feedback in order to create a high performance culture within the HR area.

  • Responsible as the key liaison for ICON acquisitions for HR and directly project manage each acquisition in establishing a project plan, assigning required resources and ensuring follow up as required.

  • Keep abreast of new and emerging trends, and best practices, both in HR and the CRO industry.

  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON’s values and the qualities, characteristics, attitudes and behaviours defined in the ICON Competency Framework.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with the HR SLT and ensure that HR is a Trusted Advisor to the business.

  • Travel (approximately 20%) domestic and/or international.

  • The Candidate:*

  • 3-5 Years management experience which has included a focus on driving strategic change, leveraging both HR solutions and business process improvements, to aggressive deadlines, quality and cost targets.

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a business discipline and previous experience working as HR Manager or in a HR COE is preferred.

  • Project Management Accredited Courses, Relevant PM Certification e.g. PMP and CSM. Would be an advantage.

  • Certificate in process engineering, (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) would also be an advantage.

  • Experienced in managing change or leading change initiatives/projects during which more than one of the following occurred:

  • A strategic thinker and leader, with strong abilities in relationship management.

  • Demonstrable leadership of matrix multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups.

  • Demonstrable competency in project management and the execution of multiple or large projects.

  • Experience developing and implementing new work processes or process improvements.

  • A proven track record in budgetary, resource, quality and timeline planning and creation of achievable projects.

  • Customer focussed with excellent influencing skills.

  • Ability to blend creative, problem-solving, and technical skills for refining existing practices/processes or developing new approaches to seize opportunities and sustain business success.

  • Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions, as well as documenting them and presenting/selling them to senior management.

  • Confidence in self and organization and a “can do” attitude

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Innovative approach to solving problems while considering implications of decisions made.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
