The Senior MRR Specialist will be responsible for providing senior level management with detailed credit analysis with emphasis on merchant level risk and financial statement analysis, assessment of total risk exposure and validation of merchant's business proposition:
SME decision making by investigating the merchant holistically
Concentration on the assessment of large volume and/or high risk accounts.
Perform credit write-up’s for management review on accounts over certain risk thresholds.
Direct interaction and negotiation with merchants.
Responsible for daily queue management ensuring SLA achievement.
Responsible for reviewing and second signing accounts.
Manage and provide ongoing training to MRM analysts and other areas of the business and coaching and mentoring of teammates.
Collaboration with stakeholders
Support business and revenue growth.
The Senior MRR Specialist will also produce and derive requested internal and external data and analysis to ensure that the group has the appropriate information to enable strong risk decisions and recommendations as necessary by business type and industry sectors.
Furthermore, she/he will support risk initiatives and enhancements to the merchant risk technology platform and infrastructure to support multiple global business units.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong array of skills including project management, risk management, credit/fraud analysis and communications expertise.
Dealing with Ambiguity
SME Decision Making
Periodic Review of top tier merchants with responsibility for reviews of high risk and high exposure accounts as per approval matrix and responsibility for maintaining and updating the PR database including conducting full assessments of large volume and/or high risk accounts incl. EAM accounts including PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, Federal and State Regulatory Compliance, Credit Card Compliance, Legal, Fraud and Credit Risk. Interpret and analyse credit bureau reports, financial statements, merchant processing statements, business model and business history, background investigation, and bank and trade references. Calculate reserve and/or collateral requirements based on credit exposure.
Provide feedback and input to management, Risk policy and Global Ops on MRR processes and problems with the aim of providing solutions and improvements to the processes and policies including reports from external industry specific data and financial sources to enable close monitoring of high-risk large merchants.
Concurrence on accounts over certain thresholds (EAM, AMV $250K+). Concurrence Process – Ensure that the quality and decision making of MRR analysts are correct and that policies and processes are being followed and to ensure that the risk is being mitigated in a correct and sensible way.
Manage and provide ongoing training and team learning sessions.
Work with the training department and all other relevant departments to maintain, update and improve training processes to reflect on policies and operational practices changes.
To be point of contact in MRR for escalations and to support the team leader in their role.
Education and Skills:
3+ years’ experience in financial services industry is required. At least two years of merchant acquiring, prior risk management or credit underwriting experience is required.
12 months PayPal product knowledge, sales and/or customer experience is essential.
Proven customer communication experience (E-mail & Phone).
Interpret and analyse credit bureau reports, financial statements, merchant processing statements, business history, background investigations, and bank and trade references desired.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and fluency in English.
