About the Role
The Liquid Technology function is part of the Diageo Brand Change Europe group,
and is responsible for research and development related to cream liqueurs, principally Baileys & Sheridans.
This role primarily covers assuring the quality of dairy ingredients, validation of alternative ingredients/suppliers and engagement with suppliers. It also supports other projects in the Liquid Technology area.
The role will report to the Liquid Development Manager and you will be expected to act as a focal point co-ordinating the activities outlined above, interpreting data, and providing a timely and efficient service to Process, Quality and Procurement. This will include manufacturing at pilot scale and shelf-life assessment of cream liqueurs.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is as follows –
To Conduct trials on the pilot plant (collection of ingredients, blending/mixing ingredients and operation of pilot plant equipment), carry out laboratory analysis on trials and compiling reports with recommendations.
You will also take part in cross-functional working with suppliers and other areas of Diageo Supply, Procurement and Technical.
Your role is vital in ensuring the quality of dairy ingredients supplied is appropriate for commercial manufacture of our award winning cream liqueurs.
The role will involve testing and analysis and provide support as required, to the procurement, quality and process teams.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a 3rd level qualification in Food Science or relevant science discipline to at least primary degree level.
Experience in this area is not essential but may be an advantage. We are looking for scientific minds to drive our brands forward.
A core competency and experience in Food science will be an advantage.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills are essential and proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
