Role Title: Data Project Assistant - Finance

Job overview

As a data project assistant you will work alongside talented professionals from a wide range of backgrounds within the finance department. You will be part of a culture that is results-focused, collaborative and inspirational. EY is transitioning to a new SAP system (Mercury) and we now require a Data Cleanse Project Assistant to join the core Finance team to bring us into the future. This is a role on a contract basis and will link in with all areas and leads of the Finance functions.

In addition to Data cleansing the role will include the implementation and processing of our Revenue returns to bring us up to date with compliance.

Reporting to the Finance Project Lead, this varied role will incorporate a varied list of finance related projects around Data cleansing within all finance functions.

Key tasks will include full cleansing of the below areas:-

  • Engagement records

  • Billing contacts

  • Client master records

  • Vendor Master records

  • General ledger core balance sheet cleansing (various projects incorporating sub ledger functions AP and AR and Intercompany)

  • Revenue Compliance for VIES, VAT and Annual Returns implementation The ideal candidate will have/be

  • Part Qualified (CIMA, CAI, ACCA, other relevant qualification)

  • Project role experience

  • Experience of working in a Finance back office is key to requirements

  • The ability to balance multiple priorities, delivering to tight deadlines through the consideration of importance and level of urgency

  • An analytical mind-set with strong numeracy skills

  • A high degree of accuracy and a relentless attention to detail

  • Commercial awareness

  • Strong knowledge of Excel- must be able to manipulate spreadsheets including sort, sum, subtotalling and creating pivots tables. Must be proficient in the use of Excel and be willing to look at ways of using Excel to improve existing manual processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop strong relationships across the finance team by demonstrating a strong team player role and working to assist key stakeholders and senior management

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral

  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
