This position will make you part of a globally dispersed team creating technical documentation for a range of technologies including ground breaking Linux and virtualization products that are changing the way enterprises manage their IT systems and embrace cloud solutions. You will be working closely with those developing, testing and supporting these products.

In this dynamic environment, you will work as an individual contributor as well as within a globally dispersed team leveraging collaborative communication tools on a daily basis.

This job requires a driven individual who is technically autonomous, having already demonstrated a high-level of expertise in areas including Linux, virtualization, networking, and storage. You should have extensive experience in writing for diverse technical audiences and installing and configuring systems to elaborate and test your content.

The ideal person for this role will enjoy learning new technologies, be able to autonomously investigate new areas, and build relationships with information sources, reviewers and colleagues globally.

A background with doc tools would be very useful

Doc tool buzz words could be XML,XSLT, oXygen XML editor, DocBook, using make, perl, python and Java on docbuild system.

To be part of this thriving team, you will have a strong sense of time management, a proven ability to meet challenging deadlines, be attentive to detail and be able to convey complex IT concepts in a simple manner. Fluent written English is essential for this role.

You should have experience with XML editors such as Oxygen, GIT or subversion repositories, and doc build and publishing systems.

Work location can be flexible for the right candidate.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.

As a member of the technical writing division, you will organize and prepare information for publication and develop publication concepts for the best communication of subject matter. Review technical information prepared by other staff members for clarity and content. Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
