The Assurance Technology (AT) Team supports the UK, Ireland including FS Assurance businesses by enabling EY Audit professionals to provide the best customer service to its’ clients.
The AT Team ensures that employees within our UKI & FS Audit Service Lines have access to the necessary tools and support required to provide a high quality, efficient service to EY clients.
The team provides specialist product and operational support for existing applications used by assurance professionals in executing their audit. We also lead the Assurance technology development agenda representing the needs of assurance and ensuring they are met by IT Services solutions delivery/3 rd party suppliers. Future products include the Intelligent Checklist, Workflow Solution etc.
The AT Team, located throughout Europe, interacts daily with a wide variety of audit teams across UK and Ireland as well as the EY global technology team.
Working closely with and reporting to the Assurance Technology team leader. Responsible for managing the Assurance Technology team and ensuring that the teams’ goals and objectives are delivered to within agreed timelines. Responsible for the existing suite of applications and delivering critical initiatives designed to effect efficiencies in assurance technology solutions.
Essential Functions of the Job
Manages majority of day-to-day responsibilitiesindependently, with little supervision. Direct supervisory responsibilities and will interact frequently withother members of the enablement team to obtain input, share informationand guide supervisory and operational team members
Create direction across the entire team while helpingindividual team members manage their workload effectively.
Managing resources and understand all aspects of theteams responsibilities. Hands-on covering of technical and/or detailedwork as required to ensure consistent team delivery
Planning and Project Management for both large andsmall scale projects
Utilizes consulting experience, and strong project andchange management experience, to identify opportunities for generatingefficiencies via technology solutions for the audit practice
Promote quality and customer focus across the wholeteam and ensuring all support functions are provided to the higheststandard possible
Understanding of standard project methodologies reproject initiation, current state analysis, future state design,implementation and project transition/close
Needs to understand global, firm wide and industrybusiness issues and how they relate to overall strategy, and specificstakeholder needs and priorities. Then translating these into anactionable plan that can be undertaken at a team level.
Ability to develop plans for and manage a 12 monthcycle of strategic planning and initiative delivery
Creation of complex monthly reports requiringsignificant detailed review and stakeholder management
Provide input on key technology issues and strategy toshape strategy execution, initiatives, and stakeholder management andinteractions
Anticipate communications needs and work independentlyto develop draft agendas, topics, speaking notes and presentations withlimited direction
Ability to work independently and produce deliverables,with limited subordinate support
Ability to build and maintain relationship across manydifferent functions, organization levels and cultures.
Strong technology skills as follows;-
Ability to gather and assess business applicationrequirements and articulate to IT
Ability to review IT requirement documentation andensure IT delivery against agreed requirements
Devise flexible approaches to resolve technologyissues
Challenge the robustness of ITs test plans and approach
Develop and implement user acceptance testing,communication and training plans
Excellent written, oral and presentation communicationand stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated success in building internal and externalrelationships at a senior level with a proven track record
Excellent team building and interpersonal communicationskills
Ability to create and present powerful and engagingpresentations
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Some travel may be required pending business needs
Proven project, change management experience, andstrategy execution
Previous team management experience essential
Strong logical reasoning skills with a desire to learnand develop expertise in specific business software and underlyingtechnologies
Proven track record as a senior project manager orchange manager on large scale complex and significant company projects
Proven aptitude and keen interest in technology andtechnology developments
Have excellent communication (verbal and written),organisational and analytical skills
Keen ability to exercise good judgement and mitigatedata loss risks
IT literate with an aptitude for quickly learning newtechnology
